The tools of the France Mobilités approach

June 2024

Centre d’études et d’expertise sur les risques, l’environnement, la mobilité et l’aménagement (CEREMA)

France Mobilités is a collaborative, partnership-based approach aimed at mobility stakeholders. Cerema is involved as a major player in its implementation. It creates a community of mutual aid to find mobility solutions, engineering support, feedback, etc., particularly for sparsely populated areas.

Contact the regional support units run by Cerema, ADEME, the Banque des territoires and the French government

The regional support units are being set up in 2019 to support mobility in ‘sparsely populated’ areas. They propose innovative solutions in areas where the private car is the main mode of transport.

Proposing and identifying funding

The support unit’s partners propose and relay various funding offers, calls for projects, partnerships, etc. They give mobility players (companies, technical centres, local authorities) visibility of the public funding available to support their innovative mobility projects, and act as a link with the Aides-territoires platform.

Getting to grips with the provisions of the LOM

The Law on Mobility has created a number of provisions designed to improve everyday mobility in all regions. Frequently asked questions, a number of guides, an observatory of local mobility policies, themed fact sheets, etc. provide a range of tools to help local authorities implement their new mobility responsibilities.

Facilitating the award of public contracts

An online database contains several thousand public procurement documents for all types of mobility-related contracts.

Drawing on successful experiences

A collaborative platform is available for sharing best practice, examples of successful projects and feedback.
